Configurable Custom Firmware

Hello,

this custom firmware is a flashable zip file with a graphical user interface that enables you to choose several options for the set up process.

The current version is based on the Minix standard firmware provided via FOTA with the date stamp 2014-12-24. You can find the change log below.

Support for UDF and ISO 9660 - for connecting usb external DVD drives

Hi,

I would prefer if support for the file systems of UDF and ISO 9660 were added into the official ROM from MINIX.

However, could someone consider creating a custom kernal with the support for these two file systems.

These two file systems are needed in order to mount the actual CD/DVD/Blu Ray disc that is USB connected to the MINIX device otherwise the disc cannot be read.

Forgive me for the stupid question, but where do I get kernel source code for Minix Neo X8? I need to make small tweek - I am trying to enable touch screen support. So I would like to get a kernel of the exact same version I have on my device. How do I do this?

Hi all,

Been looking at an OS that can used and run on X8 that will function like a Windows PC. Initially looked at RemixOS but it didn't support ARM processors. I've seen that Phoenix OS does and that there is a Nexus 10 image available on the Phoenix website. Has anyone tried running Phoenix and will it work on an X8?

How to change MAC Address for wired eth?

For some reason, I need to change the MAC Address for the wired network adaptor of my X8-H. I did go through the /system/etc folder for the potential configuration file, and got nothing.

So sorry I'm not the expert of Android, so does anyone have idea how to do this?

hi,

this has been a subject many times before but all the threads about this subject go dead pretty fast. in for example kit kat 4.4.2 on my note 3 (rooted) in the application manager with selecting an app there are options to move apps to the device storage (when installed on the external sd card) and the option to move an app to the external sd card has been by default disabled and can't be enabled until you root it and patch it, then you are able to move apps, the ones which allow it, to...

The best way to run kodi 17 on minix x8 h

I'm looking advice from members as it's not possible for lollipop on this device what's the best way to run kodi 17 On this device?

Would it be better to use
LibreElec as os also would it be better to daul boot or just wipe android and LibreElec
To load from internal?

Or would it be better to just use Install one of the kodi forks that is based on kodi FTMC MMC and EBMC etc?

  1. first of all, it will not replace the android os but give you the ability to dual boot (boot from the SD card(libreelec) or boot from the internal storage(android))
  2. libreelec is a kodi only optimized os. Kodi is the main interface.
  3. the x8-h doesn't need to be rooted


Requirement :
a SD card
a PC (in my case windows 10)

Not required but recommanded if you want to share your library between the x8-... and u1/u9 :
Mysql community edition

Hey all... Been a awhile since I did a ROM [​IMG]

This is for the Minix NEO-X8H (not the X8H-Plus).

PLEASE NOTE:
After first boot let the box settle down for about 1 minute. Then reboot it using the power menu. Do not try to use the box without this reboot as there "can" be some stability problems.
I tried to solve this problem but it has to do with the building of the dalvik cache in /data that is built on first boot after a...

Buongiorno a tutti sono nuovo a questo form..I voleva sapere se qualcuno è stato in grado di aiutarmi !!! Ho un minix neo x 8h con i permessi di root, ma mai aggirato. Ho avuto probabilità di puntamento e mi è stato l'aggiornamento del fw.I non ha eseguito pulire e la fabbrica Ricovery .. Mi balenò direttamente con lo strumento del usb che mostra un errore (DDR ..). In Minix ho schermata nera con potenza led blu. qualcuno mi può aiutare con la radice esiste metodo alternativo? Recovery Help

My X8-H will not go into recovery mode, OS is booting fine on stock but whenever I try and boot into recovery screen goes blank for a few seconds the goes to the Minix boot logo and boots into Android OS. I've tried using update app and recovery button? I just want to root the thing at the moment but concerned I won't be able to update firmware in the future if I can't get to recovery [emoji45]
